Baca is looking to recruit a creative, proactive and passionate individual to join our team in assisting the provision of care to unaccompanied asylum seeking children aged 16 to 18. The role will lead, manage and develop Baca’s systems ensuring that the charity is dynamic, responsive and efficient in its work.  You will ensure Baca teams have innovative, responsive and effective Accommodation Management, HR, ICT, Quality and Health & Safety, systems so they can excel in the delivery of Baca’s strategy in partnership with external stakeholders. 

Closing date will be 28th September at 5pm with interviews planned for the week beginning the 2nd October.

New Arrival Support Worker & Residential Volunteer (Male)

Baca is looking to recruit a special, creative, proactive and passionate individual who will join the team and make our new arrival house their home.  They will be a a strong role model and able to provide 'parental' support to young boys who have newly arrived and have no family or other support - helping them to settle in and learn living skills so they can move on to independant living.  They will live in our new arrival house and make it home to them and up to 4 boys.

The role will be a part of the strong support team in providing care to unaccompanied asylum seeking young people 16 to 18.  The team provide support and care to the young people so they become empowered with dignity, strength and hope inspiring them to become change makers for good in the communities around them. The role also will work with social workers and representatives from other agencies, for the best interest of the young people. The role comes with free accommodation, utility bills and council tax.

Waking Night Worker

Baca is looking for individuals who can join the support team and provide overnight supervision and care and be a role model for young people who are unaccompanied asylum seekers aged 16 to 18.  The role requires overnight supervision of different properties in Loughborough, ensuring the young people are safe and well and assisting with any needs that arise, liaising with the Baca on call management staff if required.  The successful applicants will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care.  The successful applicant will need access to transport as the role requires visiting the young people in their homes. They will have a personal style that is in line with Baca’s vision and values. We are looking for individuals who are supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable and personable.

Residential Volunteer - Loughborough (Male)

Residential Volunteer (male) based in Loughborough

We are seeking a male Residential Volunteer for one of our houses in Loughborough. The role requires the individual to move in to one of our properties as their main residence and be a ‘big brother’ to the young people (16-18 years) who are supported by The Baca Project. The residential volunteer role complements the work our support workers carry out with the young people in developing their independent living skills.. The accommodation linked to the role entitles the candidate to free rent, council tax and utilities. The role is appropriate for someone undertaking study or who has another job. An enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) check will be required.

Our volunteers make a fantastic contribution to the work that we do and are highly valued. You will be supported in your role and receive an induction and training as part of the ongoing support we provide to our volunteers.

Specific responsibilities of the role include:

- Be a positive role model within the house
- Link in with the support workers to aid the young persons adaptation to semi-independent living
- Provide practical assistance on matters including cooking and cleaning where required.
- Play an active role in the smooth running of the house
- Complete weekly updates regarding the house and its residents

Cover Volunteer - Residential

All Baca properties have residential volunteers who live in our houses alongside the young people we support.  To allow these residential volunteers the opportunity to have a break from this role and to have time away from the houses, Baca needs a bank of relief volunteers who we can call on to stay in the houses for one or several nights, depending on need and your availability.  Full training and induction is given and a full DBS check will be completed.
