What does Rebuild achieve?

Baca Rebuild is established on a ‘bedrock’ of relationship with the young people in our care. We believe our input has to be regular and consistent if we are to maximise the individual’s development potential. Some key outcomes from the programme are as follows:

  • Social integration and cohesion – Rebuild Services seek to ensure that Baca houses comprise residents of differing ethnic backgrounds in order to facilitate social integration and cohesion.
  • Progression towards Independent Living – The Baca Independent Living Preparation Programme (BILPP) provides a monthly evaluation tool for each of the clients in our care. Monthly monitoring ensures progression towards independent living.
  • Dual Pathway Planning – None of the young people in our care are aware of whether or not they will be granted leave to remain in the UK at the conclusion of their asylum claim. Our Rebuild Futures work empathises with this situation and progressively engages with the issue as it becomes appropriate.
  • Support to claim completion – Baca will, irrespective of the stance of other stakeholders, continue to support the young person until it becomes practically impossible to do so. This ensures the young person is aware that they have ‘a friend’ throughout their case.
  • Language support and development – Gateway English provides English tuition for all young people from the first weekday after their placement. This tuition is provided until they are placed into mainstream education and then continues in a support enhancement capacity.
  • Skill set development – Rebuild Futures secures hard outcomes in terms of work experience or placements wherever this is possible with an individual client.
